Our Story

The model is not the moat. The system around it is.

Purple Orange Group is one founder and an evidence-first operating system — the discipline that runs six very different companies as one house.

The founder's arc

From the measurement seat to the operating seat.

One career in how attention gets measured — now compressed by AI into how a whole portfolio gets run.

Max Markovtsev

A career in the measurement seat at the world's biggest agencies — Leo Burnett, BBDO, and JWT, where he led business intelligence for JWT's North American digital practice. The work was always the same shape: turn attention and behavior into evidence, and evidence into decisions.

That discipline — the JWT / Leo Burnett / BBDO attention-and-measurement rigor — is now compressed by AI from teams of analysts into a fast feedback loop. Business intelligence became digital transformation became AI automation. Today he designs, builds, and ships every venture in the Group himself.

Earlier work spanned P&G · Unilever · Nestlé · Wrigley · Western Union · Northwestern Mutual · U.S. Marine Corps.

“I run a small holding company called Purple Orange. One founder, me, and a set of real projects: an art business, a couple of software products, a fundraising tool, a lead gen system, and a personal knowledge vault I have been turning into the brain that runs all of it.”

Max Markovtsev, in his own words

“I am good at infrastructure, which is exactly why it is a trap for me. My comfort zone is architecture. My hard zone is selling.”

On the founder's honest edge

The operating model

Why one founder runs six companies.

Six ventures in fields that share almost nothing — AI engineering, frontier research, fine art, psychedelic science, specialty coffee, reviewable operators. What unifies them is not a market. It's a method.

Human-guided. AI-accelerated.

Why these, and why together: every company is designed, built, and shipped by the same person, on the same standard — no junior handoff, no strategy slides. The through-line is an evidence-first agentic operating system plus a Second Brain vault Max has been turning into “the brain that runs all of it.” It is what lets one founder credibly govern a portfolio this different.

Why now: the analyst team that used to sit behind agency measurement has collapsed into a feedback loop one operator can run. The reusable capability isn't any single model — it's the review discipline around it. Evidence before decoration, a human approval gate before anything ships, and a guardian culture that approves nothing without a reason to.

One founder Same hand, every tier Strategy, architecture, build, and ship live in one place. The taste and the standard don't get handed off or diluted between companies.
One operating system The brain that runs it all A shared agentic OS and Second Brain — source-linked output, human approval, full run history — reused across six ventures instead of rebuilt six times.
One standard Evidence over decoration Fail-closed approval gates and a guardian mindset behind every company. The model is not the moat — the system around it is.

Where it's going

Depth, not sprawl.

The next chapters are about taking the ventures that are live all the way, not adding more logos. Purple Orange AI and Violema get pushed further into production. Oryx keeps making public artifacts serious enough to become reference points. Feel The Line keeps its international footprint growing.

The two ventures still on the way — PsychDoc.AI and BeanDjinn — move from concept to credible platforms, not decorative AI landing pages. And underneath all of it, the operating system itself keeps compounding — until the system that runs the Group is the most valuable thing the Group owns.
